Fuchsia,

the blossoms,
elegant little ballerinas,
red as rowan,
bright as Christmas.

August, the bushes
luxuriant along the roadside,
filled with the baritone
drone of a thousand bees.

One blossom, torn
through the sepals,
erupts on the tongue
with the sweetness of honey.
