Chagall’s Lovers

Chagall’s lovers curl around each other.

This is the way they talk to each other,

smile to each other,

insinuate their feelings to each other.

It is the way two bodies become one,

yin and yang;

it is their completeness in each other:

Chagall’s lovers’ curl.

One word thrown into the ring,

and intimacy is honed to cruelty.
